RIO GRANDE VALLEY INTERNATIONAL MARIACHI CONFERENCE (RGV-IMC)
The Rio Grande Valley International Mariachi Conference will bring high quality mariachi education to the RGV and to Texas!
There are limited opportunities for large events that will bring the mariachi community together. This is where the idea for the Rio Grande Valley International Mariachi Conference was born. The goal is to create a big mariachi conference that will provide quality mariachi education for students and educators. Any positive revenue will be invested back into the foundation for scholarships and for future events. The goal is to make the RGV International Mariachi Conference and annual event for students, educators and the community to enjoy!

This conference will help educators continue to provide music and mariachi education while students nourish their craft. The project’s goal is to pour in to current teachers and students so that they may continue to provide music education for future generations.
MYA CULTURAL ARTS FOUNDATION
Abel and Mirelle Acuña are the founders of MYA Cultural Arts Foundation. They are both passionate music educators with a vision of continuing to grow music education programs in the Rio Grande Valley and throughout Texas and the USA.
The MYA Cultural Arts Foundation was birthed in 2024 through their vision of being able to grant scholarships to students pursuing music, with an emphasis on mariachi education, as a career path at the university level. Through this initial idea, the foundation goals and vision have expanded to provide opportunities and awareness for various cultural arts programs that will celebrate heritage and culture of the RGV.
